How To Use This Blog

I know not all people are intuitively "savvy" when it comes to computer stuff, so I thought I would create a "how-to" so more people can participate on this blog.

To Create a Post:
Definition: A post is what you are reading right now. Each post on this blog starts with the date and title in green, then the text in black. There is a green line separating each post. As I type this, only Laraine and Valerie have posted so far.

We can have as many authors as we want on the blog. To write a post on this blog, you need to first be invited by Valerie to do so (not just verbally, but electronically :) ). If you would like to be able to post on this blog, you can either leave a comment that includes your email address (instructions below on how to do that) or email Valerie at valplowman@yahoo.com. You do need an email address to be able to be invited.

Let me assure you that to create a post on a blog is just as easy as writing and sending an email. If you can email, you can create a post. Once you have been invited, let Valerie or Laraine know if you need help posting your first time. No problem.

To Comment:
I have set comments to allow anonymous comments on this blog. That way, you can comment without creating a username and password. If you comment anonymously, please add your name to the comment so we know who wrote it.

If you want to share information but creating a post intimidates you, you can always share it in the form of a comment. Valerie will then make it into a post for you.

You can also make comments to each post about the post. To comment:
  1. Go to the bottom of the post you want to comment on. If you are commenting to request to be an author, comment on any post. You can also ask questions by commenting on any post.
  2. Look for the words that say "0 comments" or "1 comment" etc. (depending on how many comments have been made).
  3. Click on those words.
  4. A new window will open.
  5. Click in the comment box under "Leave Your Comment."
  6. Type your comment.
  7. Scroll down and choose what identity to use to comment by clicking in the radio button (the round thing next to how you want to comment).
  8. Click "Publish Your Comment"
  9. You are done!

To Post Without Commenting or Becoming a Blog Author
If it is easier for you, you can just email your post to Valerie and she will post it for you.

This will be a great place for sharing recipes, tips, deals, etc. I hope all who want to will participate, so please ask if you have questions.
